What is Ragging?

1. Misconduct of any student either in spoken or written form or any action that has the effect of harming others
2. Indulging in undisciplined activities that cause physical or psychological harm or fear or apprehension
3. Asking others to do things that they normally will not do and causes a sense of shame or emotional embarrassment
4. Any act that disrupts others academic activity
5. Financial extortion or forceful monetary burden on a fresher or any other student
6. Any act of physical abuse including sexual, homosexual assaults stripping of clothes, forcing obscene lewd acts and gestures causing physical and mental torture
7. Any act of abuse by spoken words, emails, posts, public insults to derive sadistic pleasure
8. Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of any student with or without intent to derive sadistic pleasure or priority over others
9. Any act of Indiscipline, Teasing or Handling with Rudeness.
10. Any activity which is likely to cause Annoyance, hardship, Psychological Harm or creates Fear or Apprehension.
11. Any Act of Financial Extortion or Forceful Expenditure.
12. Any Act of Physical Abuse causing Assault, Harm or danger to Health.
13. Any Act of injury or infringement of the fundamental right to the human dignity.
14. Any Act of Wrongful Confinement, Kidnapping, molesting or committing unnatural offences, use of criminal forces, trespass or intimidation.
15. Any unlawful assembly or conspiracy to ragging.

Punishment for Participation in/or Abetment of Ragging

Following Punishment may be given to the learners for Participation in/or Abetment of Ragging:
    1. Cancellation of admission from the college.
    2. Suspension from attending lectures and practicals.
    3. Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits.
    4. Debarring from appearing in any Internal /semester end examination or other evaluation process.
    5. Withholding results of Internal /semester end examination of the college.
    6. Debarring from representing the college in any national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
    7. Suspension/expulsion from the college hostel.
    8. Rustication from the institution for periods varying from 1 to 2 years or equivalent period.
    9. Expulsion from the college and consequent debarring from admission to any other college/institution.
    10. Fine up to Rs. 25,000/-
